We had an article written about our experience with the city of Greensburg and the project we finished for them at the Big Well Museum.  Check it out here: http://www.kansascity.com/2012/05/30/3634526/kck-firm-helps-greensburgs-new.html

Big Well Museum

In 2007 the city of Greensburg, Kansas was completely wiped out by an EF5 tornado. Part of the rebuilding effort includes a new multi-million dollar facility, The Big Well museum which 3 Axis was selected for the exhibit design, fabrication, and installation.
In the museum 3 Axis focused on 3 key stories of Greensburg – the history of the town, the tornado, and Greensburg’s sustainable rebuilding efforts. With the design laid out we teamed up with Project Explore who managed and provided the content to help facilitate the telling of the story. We decided to use an in-house developed process of direct printing to maple panels and wrapping them around the the cylindrical building to keep the story flowing and providing interactive exhibits along the way.
The highlight of the building is a 100′ deep hand dug well that was finished in 1888. McCownGordon construction along with Law-Kingdon Architects devised a plan to open the well up to visitors and allow for the shell of a building that is now home to one amazing museum.
